Daughters of the King

The Order of the Daughters of the King is organized as a religious order. Each daughter takes a lifetime vow to live by the Rule of the Order. The Order is a group of women living a Rule of Prayer and Service to their neighbors. Daughters are people to whom parishioners can look to for love and help in time of need, loneliness, or uncertainty. They seek to walk with God as their guide, and try to encourage others to follow in their path. They seek to spread Christ's Kingdom here on earth, and teach that prayer is the foundation from which faith grows.

"Prayer without work is empty words. Service without prayer is labor lost."

We find the Daughters of the King to be a safe place in a busy world where we can be together and support each other in Christ's love. Here at St. Mary's, the Daughters of the King meet the first and third Sundays of each month. At each meeting, they hold a brief business meeting, followed by a time for study, and closing with a prayer service. To become a Daughter, the applicant must be a member of St. Mary's and participate in an 8 week course of study. Afterwards, the applicant will be admitted to the Order with a special service for the occasion.
